Her story is probably not very different from most women who have worked in corporate America.  Dr. Laureen Wishom started in an entry level position as a programmer and climbed her way to a management level position. It was a dreadfully slow process and she was getting tired of climbing the ladder one rung at a time.  She had no idea it was possible to climb, build a ramp and then leap several levels.

While working in corporate, she dreamed of starting her own business. So in early 1997, she started her coaching and consulting practice.  She joined that elite group of people who worked 40+ hours for their employer and another 30+ hours building their business. In 1998, she made the leap and left corporate.

Twelve years later, her company, Masterpiece Solutions, is known as the  Career Success and Business Growth Company and she an award-winning Career Success and Business Growth Expert, hailed as the… “Million Dollar Solutionist”™.

She is the recipient of the 2008 Top 25 Influential Woman of Houston – Spirit of Business Award (Rolling Out Magazine); the 2008 YMCA Greater Houston Minority Achievers Award; the 2007 Business Achievement Pinnacle Finalist Award (Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce); the National 2007 Stevie© Award (Mentor of the Year); and a 2009 Texas Blazing Star Finalist. She has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, The Houston Business Journal, and on Fox TV for her white paper entitled: Women on Corporate Boards.

She is an author, speaker and non-profit expert who holds a Ph.D. in Psychology/Christian Counseling, a Master’s degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in General Education. She received a Board Governance and Leadership Certification from Project Blueprint and a Productivity Education Certification from the Academy of Human Potential.
